let's pause for a commercial
4 night stay in a very nice hotel in the heart of nyc...
$300
front row seats to two broadway plays...
$200
city pass ticket to different nyc attractions...
$50
seven day unlimited ride pass to subways and buses...
$21
one day unlimited ride pass to subways and buses (because i'm an idiot who lost my seven day pass)...
$7
sidewalk kebabs
$3 each
the thought of not having to work for five glorious days...
priceless.
for everything else there is a mastercard --- a mastercard who wouldn't approve any of my applications for a credit card because of a low credit score. mga pakshet kayo! how on earth would i build a credit history if you keep denying me of a freaking credit card???
anyways, enough of the commercial....
so we went and spent our mini break number two in new york city. it was a first time for sheila and dennis to be swept with the crowds of people at times square. it was a second time for me. but i've never walked so much in my entire life than when i was with these guys. i swear, if my feet had a mind of their own, they would run to the nearest path train station and catch the first train going to new jersey with the thought of getting a well deserved foot spa. he he he...
despite my traumatized feet, we really had fun, because who wouldn't be if you wake up and see the colorful marquees of times square outside your window. hay naku! new york, new york... nakakaubos ng pera at ng energy. the first night we were there, we realized there's truth to the line "the city that doesn't sleep". madaling araw na nagkalat pa rin ang mga tao, turista man o locals. andaming extremes. nandyan ang mga expensive na mga designer shops habang sa sidewalk, nakadisplay ang mga fake na louis vuitton and prada bags at mga rolex na relo for only $5. laban ka? sa pagitan ng mga mamahaling restos naghilera naman ang mga maliliit na kiosk na nagtitinda ng mga hotdogs (75 cents) at pork/beef kebabs on a bun ($3). blending in the crowd are the wall street type of people, japanese tourists, tattoo artists, whoopi goldberg (yes! whoopi goldberg!), broadway tickets scalpers, the naked cowboy, nasty new yorkers, polite new yorkers, basta sari-saring tao.
anyway, that was already a week ago.i only had time to write about it now. alam nyo naman kayod na ulit ako to get the object of my desire (which i will blog later). just thinking about our week in new york got me tired, but it was worth it. napansin nyo ba? lahat ng mga post ko tungkol sa lakwatsa lagi na lang "worth it". he he he...
